
Nominations Sought for the 2010 Paul Simon Courage in Public Service Award
Any person may nominate someone to receive the 2010 Paul Simon Courage in Public Service Award. The criteria for any person nominated for the Simon Award are:
- The recipient shall be a resident of Illinois.
- The recipient currently serves or served in the previous calendar year in a public (elected or appointed) office in Illinois.
- The person is recognized for public service that is in some way similar to the principled and courageous public service of Paul Simon. It is up to persons making a nomination to establish such similarities.
- Service that is connected in some way to the recipient's religious convictions are not a pre-requisite, but may be factored into the selection process by the selection committee. The person making the nomination will be responsible for establishing such connection, if any, to the religious convictions of the person being nominated.
